The signing of this Senegal international did not come without its dangers, considering he failed a medical at Stoke and reportedly had the West Ham backroom team concerned. But if he helps to keep the Hammers up it will have been a calculated risk. With four goals in four Premier League starts, he is proving to be clinical following his move from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim.
Man United player to watch: Antonio Valencia. It may be an old cliché, but the return of Valencia really has been like a new signing for the Red Devils, after the Ecuador winger was forced off with an ugly ankle/leg break against Rangers in the Champions League in September. Valencia made his comeback from injury in the FA Cup win over Arsenal three weeks ago and made his first start in the Premier League victory over Bolton Wanderers last time out. As his fitness improves he will become a crucial weapon in the run-in.
